Queen Creek's October Calendar, Mapped Around Ellsworth Loop

October 8, 2026

Queen Creek's best-known construction project sits at the northeast corner of Ellsworth Loop Road and Ocotillo Road. As of early October, the latest published updates still describe its tenants as coming soon. Down the same road, the Friday food-truck night and the Saturday market already run on a weekly schedule, and a new maker boutique and a renamed neighborhood pub opened nearby this year. When The Switchyard opens, it will join a downtown routine that already exists. This month's calendar shows where that routine runs, and how the rest of October builds on it.

The corner that is still a work site

The Switchyard is a $120 million project from Creation and Horizon Real Estate Ltd., with LGE Design Build in charge of construction. At the June 2025 groundbreaking, phase one was expected to finish by mid-2026. Creation named the first tenants in March 2026, and coverage that month said they were expected to open by the end of the year.

Here is that tenant list:

  • Postino
  • Shake Shack
  • Snooze
  • Bamboo Sushi
  • ROOM and PORCH
  • Zara Nail Bar
  • Edward Jones

The latest firm update covers just one tenant. AZ Big Media reported on August 24 that Postino was "scheduled to open later this year." This will be the Arizona-born wine bar's first Queen Creek location. Its address is 21791 S. Ellsworth Loop Road, Suite 101. As of this writing, Postino's own location page still says "Opening in Queen Creek in 2026!" and has a sign-up form for opening news. No other tenant has a published opening date.

The floor plan shows what kind of space is coming. Postino Queen Creek will have 3,800 square feet inside with seating for 107. It also gets a 1,953-square-foot patio for up to 86 guests, with roll-up garage doors joining the two. That is a big outdoor footprint on a road that already holds an outdoor gathering every Friday night.

The Friday and Saturday routine already in place

Queen Creek Feastival runs on Fridays from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at 22300 S. Summers Place, near Ellsworth Loop and Aldecoa Drive. Visit Queen Creek lists an October 16 date. The next morning, the Queen Creek Family Market sets up at 22301 S. Ellsworth Loop. Its next posted date is Saturday, October 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with free admission and free parking. The Queen Creek Chamber's calendar lists October 10, 2026, and a second October market on the 24th.

Both addresses are on Ellsworth Loop, the road The Switchyard's site faces. The Friday-evening crowd and the Saturday-morning crowd that Postino's patio is built for already come to this stretch every week.

Two newer storefronts on Ellsworth Road add to that weekend circuit:

  • Sweet Creek Boutique, 22225 S. Ellsworth Road, recently held its grand opening and carries work from about 27 local makers.
  • Queen Creek Public House, 22002 S. Ellsworth Road, is the new name for Badlands and serves pub fare. PHOENIX magazine included it in its July 2026 openings roundup.

None of these four needed a $120 million development to get started. Together they are the downtown base The Switchyard is being built next to.

Event times on Visit Queen Creek's calendar can change, so check the listing the week of any outing.

What Schnepf Farms added this year

The weekly downtown events are the base. Each October, the Pumpkin & Chili Party at Schnepf Farms adds the town's biggest seasonal draw on top of it, and this year's edition has more new attractions than most. The farm added five rides and attractions: the Peach Pit, the Schnepf Giant Slide, the Barnyard Stampede, and two classic amusement rides, the Barnstormers and the Farmers Daughter Coffee Cup Twirl. The Giant Slide is 100 feet long, with a 42-inch height minimum. The Barnyard Stampede is a roller coaster imported from Italy. Another new ride, The Drop, falls 40 feet.

The pumpkin patch now has 10 polka-dot pumpkin displays, ranging from three to seven feet tall, designed by a Japanese artist. A new food passport lets visitors sample items from five food and drink stops around the farm. The festival runs Wednesday through Sunday all month at 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road.

The Wednesday-through-Sunday schedule makes it easy to combine the farm with downtown. October 10 is the clearest example, because the Family Market and the farm are both open that day:

  1. Morning: Family Market on Ellsworth Loop, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with free parking.
  2. Midday: Sweet Creek Boutique on Ellsworth Road for local makers' goods.
  3. Afternoon: Schnepf Farms on Rittenhouse Road, with the food passport standing in for lunch.
  4. Evening: Back to Queen Creek Public House on Ellsworth Road for pub fare.

The Olive Mill on Meridian Road adds two smaller events. Pizza Date Night is on Wednesday, October 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and the October Sangria Social is that Saturday, October 17. Paired with the October 16 Feastival, that gives the middle of the month three evening options in four days.

Halloween runs through the rec center

The end of the month moves to the Recreation & Aquatic Center at 22343 E. Ryan Road. On Saturday, October 24, Spooky Splash runs from 3 to 6 p.m. and Not So Spooky Halloween follows from 5 to 8 p.m. Both are listed for residents only. The center's ballroom hosts All Hallows' Eve on Thursday, October 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. Because the October 24 events are for residents, it is worth having proof of address ready before showing up.

Some newer businesses sit outside the downtown core. Pet Supplies Plus at 37752 N. Gantzel Road offers grooming and self-service pet washes, and its owners advertised a grand-opening weekend August 29–30. Presidential Pools celebrated the opening of its new showroom on July 28. The showroom is at 37360 N. Gary Road, Suite 108.

When Postino's garage doors open at Ellsworth Loop and Ocotillo, the Friday Feastival and the Saturday market down the road will already be part of the weekly schedule.
